Etret's Group
In this Group: Etret, Firdos, Shakeela, Gulshan, Noshaba, Shahida, Zariya, Kamraz, Afsar , Naseem
Etret is a 45-year-old hard-working woman. She lives in Punjab, Pakistan with her husband, son, and 4 daughters. Her husband is a carpenter while all of her children are students. Her husband's income is insufficient to meet the family's needs, so Etret is trying to help him fulfill their needs by stitching clothing.

Since 1997 she has operated her tailoring business very efficiently, but she is currently in need of purchasing a new sewing machine, as her old machine is not working properly. To do that, she has requested a loan as a member of a 10-person group from KIVA’s partner BRAC Pakistan so she can continue her business. With the profits she will pay the household expenses and put aside some savings for her children's education. She is hopeful that the loan will be a productive one for them.

This is a Group Loan

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.

Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
