Redempteur 2 Group
In this Group: Roberte, Lea Chantal, Jean Joseph, Godefroy, Marie, Richard
Roberte, age 49, is a single mother of four children aged 8 to 25 years old. Three of her children currently attend school. She also provides for her 18-year-old niece. Roberte is representing the Redempteur 2 group.

Roberte sells soft drinks and juice and has been operating this small business for six years. She will use her portion of the loan to buy a large stock of drinks to sell. Her business strategy is to buy her merchandise in bulk at a discounted price and sell it piece by piece.

Roberte has received four previous loans from HOPE Congo, Kiva's partner. She has a good repayment record. In the future, she wants to buy drinks from outside of Congo and import them to sell in her store. She hopes her children are able to find work after they are finished with school.

This is a Group Loan

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.

Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
