Chien was born in 1979. She has two children who are learning in the 10th grade and 5th grade. She is divorced from her husband. She cooks food for a small restaurant to earn a living. She gets 4,000,000 VND a month. This number is also the amount of her family’s total income per month.
Chien has participated in SEDA's credit program since 2008. In the last cycle she borrowed 6,048,000 VND and repaid the loan on time. In this loan cycle, she would like to borrow 5,152,000 VND to buy chicken breeds and feed for raising them. She always wants to earn more money for her family’s income so she can let her children have good careers.
The Center of Small Enterprise Development Assistance (SEDA) is a non-profit organization whose vision is to create “a society without poverty.” Founded in 2004, SEDA provides microfinance services to low-income and disadvantaged people in rural areas of Hanoi and the northern provinces of Vietnam through its Binh Minh Micro-Finance Program.
