Mlongo is 49-year-old married woman and has five children; she lives with her family in a rural community of Tiribe. She started selling mats at the market seven years ago. She is requesting a 50,000 KES loan to buy more mats to completely stock her business. She is satisfied with the development of her sales and her clientele because the profits earned allow her and her family to subsist. She aims at opening a retail shop in future.
About Yehu Microfinance Trust
This loan is administered by Yehu Microfinance Trust, which was founded in 1998 as a project of CHOICE Humanitarian Kenya. In July 2007, Yehu became a separate entity from CHOICE and was registered as a trust. Since then, Yehu has expanded to cover over half of Kenya’s 13 coastal districts.
