Bahati is the oldest member of the Ahadi group. She is an entrepreneur, 58- years old, and a seller of spare parts (motorcycle, bicycle, vehicles, engines) She and her husband help each other. She is mother of five children, all of whom have finished university and already have their own families. This new loan will enable her to pay for spare parts to add to her inventory (pistons, discs, air chambers, stuffing, tires, motor oil, etc.) The borrower is comfortable with Hekima's program. HEKIMA is a microfinance institution headquartered in Goma, Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), with branch offices in Goma and Bukavu. HEKIMA aims to contribute to the transformation of the economic, social, and spiritual lives of the economically active poor of the DRC. To this end, HEKIMA provides its clients with solidarity group loans to support income-generating activities. Despite ongoing instability and violence in its operating areas, HEKIMA continues to keep its doors open and provide credit and savings services for its over 90% female clientele.
