A man with many successes and failures too but always with the idea of improving his and his family’s life. He lives with his family group in an area of the country with a high incidence of social violence. He must deal with it every day in order to avoid being swept away by it and affected by the difficult situation. His family is the reason he strives because it’s the only way to be able to give them the best.

He sells vegetables: onions, tomatoes, chilies and potatoes, among others. He’s been in business for some time now and has a large clientele that prefers him for the quality of his product, the good prices and the excellent service.

He’d like to improve his vegetable stand which is why he approached Integral to request a loan to buy vegetables at wholesale in order to earn higher profits because they can be bought for lower prices that way. He’s sure that with the support provided he’ll be able to provide a better future for his children. In addition, he trusts in God that he’ll be able to repay the acquired debt quickly. He gives thanks in advance for the help he’ll get. He states with satisfaction that he’s capable of attaining whatever he proposes for himself.

More information about this loan

This loan is part of a pilot project Apoyo Integral is launching in conjunction with several local NGOs to support at-risk youth and their families with funding from Kiva. This loan product is tailored to young people who find themselves in high-risk situations because they are located in areas affected by extreme violence. Loans are combined with vocational, technical, and financial training to help these young people develop business ideas that will help them generate income, reintegrate into society, and support their dreams of being productive and contributing members of society.

Due to potential safety risks facing these youth, some of the loans are being disbursed to their parents in order to protect their identities. For the same reason, the faces of some Apoyo Integral borrowers may be blurred in photos. Apoyo Integral appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to provide much-needed support to at-risk Salvadoran youth.
