Fighting for a better future? We need your help.

Creating a more equitable world takes a lot of time and energy, but at Kiva we’re in it for the long haul. 100% of money lent on Kiva goes to funding loans. That means we rely on donations from people like you to make this work possible. For a limited time, if you donate $35 or more, a $25 bonus will be added to your account (you’ll get an email once it’s there).

A loan of $100 helped a member to buy materials for constructing a proper latrine.

Ny's Group's story

Originally from a rural village of the Kandal Stoeng district of Kandal province, Ny is a 39-year-old married mother of five children. Rice farming has been the main source of her family’s income for fifteen years to better support the family. She can earn about 30,000 KHR per day to meet the family’s needs and manages to save about 13,000 KHR each day for future needs.

Ny’s group consists of two members who have been with VisionFund for two cycles. She fully paid back the past loans which have helped her support her family with enough food and basic necessities. Now she is leading her group to ask for a loan with VisionFund of 160,000 KHR each. As the leader, she is going to use her portion to buy materials for constructing a proper latrine, including toilet bowls, tile drainage, etc. She hopes this loan will enable her to have a clean latrine for her family to use.
