There are always new opportunities in life and new challenges to become better people. This man has high aspirations and the desire to succeed with his vision of being an example for his family and those who know him, in order to overcome poverty.

He lives with his family in a modest home which is full of love. He is a hardworking, honest, sincere, and enterprising man. Those who know him know that he is a good person, willing to help anyone who needs him.

With much effort, he managed to mount a hardware store, where he sells paint, hammers, nails, and sandpaper, along with other necessary materials for construction and home repair.

Because he is a friendly man and his prices are accessible, clients prefer him and come to him whenever they need to buy something. He feels that he needs to expand his business a bit, given the demand, but unfortunately he does not have the necessary capital to realize that wish. Therefore, he came to INTEGRAL to apply for a loan to buy more tools, such as paint, wood, hammers, nails, drainage pipes, among others. He trusts in God that his dream will soon come true.

More information about this loan

This loan is part of a pilot project Apoyo Integral is launching in conjunction with several local NGOs to support at-risk youth and their families with funding from Kiva. This loan product is tailored to young people who find themselves in high-risk situations because they are located in areas affected by extreme violence. Loans are combined with vocational, technical, and financial training to help these young people develop business ideas that will help them generate income, reintegrate into society, and support their dreams of being productive and contributing members of society.

Due to potential safety risks facing these youth, some of the loans are being disbursed to their parents in order to protect their identities. For the same reason, the faces of some Apoyo Integral borrowers may be blurred in photos. Apoyo Integral appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to provide much-needed support to at-risk Salvadoran youth.
