The desire to overcome and provide the best for his family are the reasons why each dawn brings him new hopes and dreams to overcome poverty and avoid social unrest that can victimize his family members.

He’s very humble, hardworking, honest and enterprising - all qualities his neighbors comment about. He’s always sought the best for his family and currently works making and selling bricks. This is how he, his son and his in-laws earn their living and they go out to work in order to give their best and set an example for anyone looking at him of the way to earn one’s living honorably.

He wants to invest in materials like clay and firewood needed to manufacture bricks to earn higher profits but does not have enough income of his own to make this dream reality and to increase his profits. Because his products are in high demand, though, he’s approached Integral to request a loan to be able to buy clay and firewood and various other materials that will make it possible for him to continue manufacturing larger amounts of bricks. He hopes that he’s not alone with his wish and that he’ll be able to reach his goal ahead of time.

Deseos de superación y siempre brindar lo mejor a su familia, son razones para que cada mañana éste hombre renueve ilusiones y esperanzas a fin de superar la pobreza y evitar la violencia social de la que pueden ser victimas miembros de su familia, es muy humilde, trabajador, honesto y emprendedor, cualidades que sus vecinos comentan. Siempre buscando los mejores beneficios para su familia, actualmente de dedica a la venta y elaboración de ladrillos es así como junto a su hijo y sus suegros se ganan la vida y salen a trabajar para brindar lo mejor de si, y desde ya, ser ejemplo de como se debe ganar la vida honradamente para quienes lo miran. Desea invertir en materia prima necesaria para elaborar sus ladrillos como barro y leña y así obtener mas ganancias, pero no posee de suficientes ingresos propios para llevar a cabo este sueño e incrementar sus ganancias, ya que sus productos son bien demandados, es por eso que se acercó a INTEGRAL para solicitar un crédito y así poder comprar leña y barro, y diversos materiales que le servirán para seguir elaborando mayor cantidad de ladrillos. Cuenta con la esperanza de que no estará solo en su anhelo y podrá cumplir su meta antes de tiempo.

This loan is part of a pilot project Apoyo Integral is launching in conjunction with several local NGOs to support at-risk youth and their families with funding from Kiva. This loan product is tailored to young people who find themselves in high-risk situations because they are located in areas affected by extreme violence. Loans are combined with vocational, technical, and financial training to help these young people develop business ideas that will help them generate income, reintegrate into society, and support their dreams of being productive and contributing members of society.   


Due to potential safety risks facing these youth, some of the loans are being disbursed to their parents in order to protect their identities. For the same reason, the faces of some Apoyo Integral borrowers may be blurred in photos. Apoyo Integral appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to provide much-needed support to at-risk Salvadoran youth.
