Anita is married, 38 years of age, and lives in Poblacion, Baliangao, Misamis Occidental, together with her five kids. Anita is operating a sari-sari (convenience) store to earn a living. She has been in this business for more than five years and she earns 4,000 PHP every month. She is requesting a loan of 5,000 PHP to purchase new items such as candies, milo, shampoo, soaps etc. Anita's business is very stable in her community. She joined GDMPC this year. In the future, Anita will use her income to support her five kids in their studies until they finish college, and also to meet their daily needs. Anita wishes that her business would be more progressive.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
