Rosemarie, a 59-year-old farmer, is married with two children and lives in the Philippines. Rosemarie plants and harvests rice crops, which she sells to earn a living. She has been doing this for 11 years, and every month she earns 18,910 PHP from this work.
Rosemarie has requested a loan of 50,000 PHP to purchase fertilizer, such as manure. Rosemarie been a member of GDMPC since 2009. She hopes to have a good harvest this year.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
