Lorna, 28 years old, is a married entrepreneur from Tagodalo, Bayabas, Aurora. She has one child, and is earning income from her transport service business. It was started almost two years ago now, and she earns PHP 4,000 a month.
To improve business, she is borrowing the amount of PHP 7,000 from GDMPC micro credit, which she just joined in 2011, to obtain accessories and tires. Before long, she’s hopeful of the possibility of expanding her business.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
