Mwanamoto is a widow and has four children. She lives in the suburban area of Likoni. She works selling fresh water from her home. In addition, she owns a rental house which earns her approximately 15,000 KES per month. She is requesting a loan in order to repair her rental house. Mwanamoto plans to buy cement and sand. This loan will help her improve the condition of her rental house, so that her tenants will be more comfortable.

This loan is administered by Yehu Microfinance Trust, which was founded in 1998 as a project of CHOICE Humanitarian Kenya. In July 2007, Yehu became a separate entity from CHOICE and was registered as a trust. Since then, Yehu has expanded to cover over half of Kenya’s 13 coastal districts.
