Thaer is 38 years old, married, and has one child. He has worked as a taxi driver since 2006. Just like most Palestinians in Lebanon, Thaer does not have many options for work. Because of this, he rented a car which he is working on and uses as a taxi to provide for his family and improve their standard of living. Thaer used to work as a mechanic but he was not making enough money to cover his expenses. Thaer has been an Al Majmoua borrower for five cycles. He believes that Al Majmoua is the only one supporting him and standing next to the Palestinians in Lebanon. His previous loans helped improve his standard of living a lot. The present requested loan from Kiva's partner Al Majmoua will be used to do necessary maintenance on his car, which is his only source of income. Thaer hopes to reopen his garage one day and work as a mechanic again because he loves that business a lot.

The Lebanese Association for Development – Al Majmoua is Lebanon’s leading microfinance institution and the oldest Kiva partner in Lebanon. Al Majmoua’s vision is to “be the leader in creating an inclusive financial system where all people in Lebanon have access to affordable services.” Given Lebanon's diverse population, Al Majmoua lends to all nationalities, provided legal residency. The strong financial position achieved to date has allowed Al Majmoua to steadily lower its pricing over the years.
