Fema is from Basirang, Tudela. She is 51 years old. Fema is married and has four children. To make a living, she manage a fishpond where she raises fish, crabs and shrimp for sale. She's been engaged in her business for three years and earns 5,000 Philippines pesos a month for these activities.
Recently, Fema joined GDMPC. Fema is requesting a loan of 15,000 pesos, which will be used to buy young fish to raise and twine to expand the business. She plans to use the additional revenue generated from the business to improve the general living conditions of her family.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
