Mohammad is a 33-year-old Lebanese married man living with his wife and two children who are still attending school. He has owned a cafe in his town since 2009. He’s the main income provider for the family and looking to offer them a good standard of living. And even though he’s spending most of his time working, he still believes that this is the perfect way to enhance his family’s way of living and help his children achieve a higher educational level.
Today, he’s asking for a loan from Kiva partner Ameen s.a.l to renovate his café’s interior decoration and purchase the needed quantity of coffee, charcoal for the hubble-bubble, and many other items. He notes that this will boost his work and improve his status financially. In the future, he plans to add food to his café.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
