Nadia is a 45-year-old Lebanese woman. She lives with her husband and only one school-aged child. She’s a friendly and above all a hard-working woman. She started her business as a tailor many years ago; she’s very talented at her job especially after more than twenty years of experience in the same occupation. People in her town and the surrounding areas are sure that she can offer them high quality designs at fair prices.
At the same time, she owns another shop and benefits from its rental fees. In order to provide the family with extra financial support, her husband also works and has his own business. With her requested loan from Kiva Partner Ameen s.a.l, Nadia will purchase new textiles designs and different types of needles and thread in addition to many other items. She seeks to open her own tailoring factory as soon as she can, hoping to enhance her family’s way of living.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
