El Sauce is a beautiful town located in the western part of Nicaragua known for it modest and enterprising people, such as Pedro Antonio. He's a 50-year-old man who has dedicated half of his life to working for the Ministry of Health. He has a lot of experience in the area and thanks to this job he has supported his family every day. He's striving for his children to be professionals, something he wasn't able to do himself because of his scarce resources and for being from an area far from the city.
This is why he strives every day to be better in his job, which will allow him to achieve his dream of seeing his children become professionals, something he wasn't able to become.
He's requesting a loan to buy medicine and pay for medical consultations because lately he has been feeling ill and he wants to improve himself and his whole family.
He hopes to be granted this loan and be able to pay for the medical expenses because without this support he won't be able to achieve many dreams and goals.
This loan is administered by Centro de Promocion del Desarrollo Local (CEPRODEL), one of Kiva’s larger partners in Central America. Founded in 1991 and based in Managua, Nicaragua, CEPRODEL specializes in the development and funding of housing cooperatives for traditionally marginalized communities, the provision of microfinance services to small businesses, and the promotion of innovative renewable energy projects. In addition, unlike many microfinance institutions in the area that have chosen to avoid the rural areas of the country due to the increased financial risk, CEPRODEL provides financial services to numerous clients in the agriculture and livestock industry. Supporting a borrower through CEPRODEL means contributing to the promotion and sustainability of this important work in Nicaragua.
