Deoung, aged 45, is a villager living in a rural area of Kror Kor district of Pursat province, Cambodia. He is a single father of seven children. Two (one daughter and one son) of whom are dependent on him. He makes his living through farming rice. He has been involved in this business for seven years. He is able to earn around 16,000KHR each day and, after offsetting his cost of living, saves approximately 6,000KHR. This is his first time requesting a loan via VisionFund, Kiva’s partner. He is applying for a loan in the amount of 1,000,000KHR. He will use this for purchasing fertilizer to support his farmland. This hard-working father, Deoung, hopes that his business will provide him with good quality crop yields so that he will be able to increase his income and provide his family with a better quality of life.
