Dzame, 23, lives with her daughter, in her own house. She sells vegetables like kale, potatoes, onions and tomatoes among others in the local market where she lives. She has a large, regular clientele that prefer her because she always has what they need at affordable prices and in addition, her service is perfect. She is always at their disposal when they visit her.
Dzame is an enterprising woman who very much wants to get ahead and is always on the lookout for new opportunities that will help her reach success. She works day to day with much enthusiasm to reach it. She wants to increase business and to do so needs to invest, which is why she’s asking Yehu for a loan to buy potatoes, onions, cabbages, tomatoes, etc.

This loan is administered by Yehu Microfinance Trust, which was founded in 1998 as a project of CHOICE Humanitarian Kenya. In July 2007, Yehu became a separate entity from CHOICE and was registered as a trust. Since then, Yehu has expanded to cover over half of Kenya’s 13 coastal districts.
