Three of the children are their own. Jeanne lives together with her children and husband. The couple supports the household together.

In order to strengthen her business and to better satisfy her clients, Jeanne wants to increase her stock. To do so, she is requesting this third loan from ALIDé together with the other members of group “Amis de Jésus.”

Le groupe AMIS DE JESUS est formé de trois personnes qui résident dans le même quartier. La représentante de ce groupe, nommée Jeanne, est celle dont la main est levée sur la photo. Jeanne est âgée de 42 ans et a arrêté l’école au niveau primaire. Jeanne est mariée à un mécanicien du nom de Mesmin. Le couple a quatre enfants à charge, tous scolarisés, dont trois sont leurs propres enfants. Jeanne vit ensemble avec ses enfants et son mari. Le couple assure ensemble les charges de la maison. Pour faire face à ses différentes charges, Jeanne vend des produits cosmétiques et des produits de toilette depuis près de huit ans. Jeanne s’approvisionne dans un marché du Bénin. Dans le souci de renforcer davantage son activité et de mieux répondre aux exigences de sa clientèle, Jeanne désire augmenter le stock de ses produits. Pour ce faire, Jeanne sollicite ensemble avec les autres membres du groupe AMIS DE JESUS, ce troisième crédit auprès de ALIDé.

Alidé is a Beninese NGO that works to reduce poverty by offering sustainable access to productive loans like this one in addition to savings, training sessions, and social work to low-income families.

Supporters of this loan should be aware that there is some risk of being repaid late. Because the Beninois Ministry of Finance has imposed restrictions on the amount of money Alidé can send to Kiva, the organization can only send monthly repayments in installments smaller than $13,000. This means that some Kiva lenders may receive their repayments late. However, Alidé remains a healthy institution in good standing with its creditors, and Kiva would like to continue working to support its clients.
