Srey is 46 years old. She is married and resides with six children in Kampong Chhnang Province, Cambodia. She has been cultivating rice and fattening up animals for more than 10 years, earning approximately $2 daily. Her husband (who is joining her in the picture) is a soldier who earns about $3 each day. Three of her children are garment workers. They earn about $9 per day.
In order to improve her family’s finances, Srey is requesting a loan of $1,000 to purchase farmland to use for cultivating agricultural crops. This purchase will help her increase income for the family. In the future, she would like to run a grocery store and help her children earn bachelor’s degrees. Moreover, she hopes to build a new house as soon as possible.
