Franz Josef, 25 years old, is a single entrepreneur of Sta. Cruz, Jimenez, with a child. He is earning income from his transport service business. It started almost 3 years ago now, and he earns 6,000 Philippine pesos (PHP) a month. To improve the business, he borrowed 20,000 PHP from GDMPC, which he just joined recently, to obtain accessories and tires. Before long, he’s hopeful of the possibility of expanding his business.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
