En Los Bajos de Montecristi, ciudad conocida por su diversidad de productos típicos, como por ejemplo los sombreros de paja toquillas conocidos dentro y fuera del país se reúnen cada 15 días las socias del Banco Comunal Las Palmitas.

En este lugar vive la señora Yessenia, tiene 34 años de edad, está casada y de esta relación tienen dos hijos de 9 y 8 años que estudian en escuela. Su esposo es artesano y agricultor.

Ella junto al esposo se dedican a elaborar sombreros de paja toquilla desde hace mas de 10 años y esto les ha dado lo necesario para sacar adelante a su familia, ellos elaboran los sombreros y luego una vez por semana llevan a entregar sus productos a comerciantes en Montecristi los mismos que los comercializan en esta ciudad a turistas que gustan mucho de estos productos típicos del lugar.

Este crédito es para comprar paja toquilla, pinturas y cintas necesarias para elaborar los sombreros. Lleva más de 2 años en el Banco Comunal, es la presidenta del mismo y le gusta porque con los créditos ella puede ayudar en algo a su esposo.

Su sueño es tener un local en el centro para vender los sombreros.
