Ibrahim is a 45-year-old Lebanese man. He is married and lives with his wife and three children, all of whom attend school. Ibrahim manages the family’s household expenses while operating his business. He is the owner of a shop that sells glass and mirrors; he has owned this shop since 2009. He sells different mirror styles and glass, in addition to many related home accessories. His shop is located in his town where many customers from his community visit him to benefit from his beautiful items at fair prices. Ibrahim works very hard to maintain his family’s finances at a good level. Today, he is requesting to borrow a loan from Kiva Partner Ameen s.a.l to expand his inventory of mirrors, glass, and many other items. He earns a small income and confirms that the loan will help him boost sales--and therefore income--by 15%.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
