Bekim is forty-three years old, married, and has three children between the ages of eight and twelve years old. All three of them go to school. He works in a heating company with a very low salary and his wife works as a babysitter. He has managed somehow to build a house for his family but the second floor is incomplete and is still missing windows and doors.

In addition, the roof is not properly completed and it leaks whenever it rains. Bekim is requesting a loan for the first time in order to purchase the doors and windows needed for the second floor and to fix the roof. This loan will help him be able to have the necessary repairs before the winter to ensure that his family is kept dry, safe and warm. Bekim hopes to offer a better life for his children and provide them a better education. He and his family want to thank all Kiva lenders!

About KosInvest

KosInvest is a micro-enterprise development organization that provides loans to help people in rural Kosovo generate more income and improve their living conditions. It offers a wide range of loan products, from loans tailored to micro and small enterprises to loans designed to help women-headed households.

About Housing Loans

Many poor families cannot afford housing that meets their needs. When you make a housing loan on Kiva, you give people access to flexible capital to obtain or improve their homes. Better housing means better health, sanitation, and even educational outcomes for children. A house can also be much more for entrepreneurs who run businesses out of their homes. In this way, housing and small business loans on Kiva share a common purpose: to alleviate poverty and enable families to enjoy more stable lives.
