Qafar
Qafar is a 43 year-old man, an internally displaced person who lives in Bilasuvar IDP Settlement with his wife and two children. He is a farmer and has raised seasonal fruits and vegetables for the last 14 years. During these years Qafar gained enough skills and experience to run the business. He chose this crop business because it is profitable and fresh fruits and vegetables are in high demand. People use fresh vegetables everyday and consider them healthy. Many national dishes are made of vegetables, like pilau and dolma. Fresh fruits are served at every table in an Azerbaijan family and also are used in fresh punch. He usually sells his crop in the central bazaar. His monthly income is 100 AZN.

As these products are in high demand, Qafar wants to expand his business and produce more fruits and vegetables to cover market demand. For this purpose, he applied for 1900 AZN. He will buy new garden tools, seeds and fertilizers. This will be his third loan and he has a good client history.

More information about this loan

This loan is designed for clients residing in settlements for Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in Bilasuvar, Azerbaijan. An internally displaced person (IDP) is someone who has been forced to flee his or her home due to armed conflict, violence, human rights violations, or natural or manmade disasters, but who, unlike a refugee, has not crossed an international border (source: UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs). Many of these people have failed to qualify for loans through formal channels due to low income and lack of collateral. By funding this loan, you are creating opportunities and supporting economic development in extremely underserved communities.
