Geraldine is a 27-year-old resident of Sto. Niño, Tukuran. Geraldine provides her two children's needs from the little amount of 10,000 PHP she has earned monthly from her own piggery business for 2 years, as an aid to the income earned by her husband. However,in 2007 she became a member of GDMPC, and she applied for a loan at GDMPC micro finance of 25,000 PHP to buy feeding supplies. Geraldine wants to expand her business one day.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
