Zuhura, 44, describes herself as a responsible, very hardworking person for her family’s well-being. Zuhura is a widow who lives with her three children in the town of Samburu located in Coast Province.
Zuhura works buying and selling vegetables and fruits, a business that allows her to cover household expenses. She is currently asking Yehu for a loan to invest in the purchase of oranges, bananas, tomatoes, cabbages, among others, which in this season is going up considerably and her income will improve thus attaining a change in her family’s quality of life.
Zuhura dreams of having a large locale to be able to offer a greater diversity of fruits and vegetables, and also to open a cereal shop.
About Yehu Microfinance Trust
This loan is administered by Yehu Microfinance Trust, which was founded in 1998 as a project of CHOICE Humanitarian Kenya. In July 2007, Yehu became a separate entity from CHOICE and was registered as a trust. Since then, Yehu has expanded to cover over half of Kenya’s 13 coastal districts.
