José
José is 54 years old. He is married and lives in Sololá. He has 10 children: of these, four are boys who go to school and work with him, and four are girls who also help him.

He is a hard-working man who wants the best for his family, with them always working together. He grows vegetables such as onions, potatoes, beans, and corn, which he sells in the local market and in other places.

He, his wife and his children help one another carry out the farm work. He began this work independently 20 years ago, this being the main livelihood that his parents taught him.

He sees that growing these vegetables has given good results, with the good prices improving his family's finances. The harvests he has had have been good. He wishes to farm his plot of land again, for which he needs a loan of 4000 quetzales in order to buy seed potatoes and organic fertilizer. This way he can cultivate his land and have a good harvest.

He hopes to have good earnings and to continue improving his family's income. His greatest dream is to have more land and to build a house for his children. This is why he will continue working hard, so that all this can come true in his life.
