La Señora. Hortensia es socia del banco comunal Las Toquilleras, todos sus miembros viven cerca del cantón Sigsig, lugar que está rodeado de montañas las que nos regalan hermosos paisajes, la mayoría de las mujeres de este cantón se dedican a los quehaceres de sus hogares, trabajan en la agricultura, crían animales o realizan sombreros de paja toquilla, muchos trabajan en la ciudad, aun mantienen la cultura y tradiciones de sus pueblos.

Doña Hortensia tiene 40 años, es casada y fruto de su unión conyugal ha concebido 4 hijos de 20, 17, 14 y 12 años de edad, su primer hijo trabaja para solventar sus gastos personales y sus tres últimos hijos están estudiando en un colegio de la localidad. Su esposo trabaja como jornalero, la casa es de su propiedad siendo el fruto del trabajo conyugal.

Ella se dedica a los quehaceres de su hogar y a la cría de animales como: cerdos y cuyes, también labora tejiendo sombreros de paja toquilla actividad que aprendió de su madre.

Su crédito lo va a invertir en la compra de pollos para iniciar con la crianza de estos animales.

Su meta es tener un negocio propio como un local para vender ropa.
