Grace is married and has four children, three of whom go to school. She takes care of additional family members (sisters and brother). She has a business selling charcoal and has been in this business for 10 years. She sells to all kinds of people, both on retail and wholesale. She works seven days a week at the market. She has applied for a loan of 2,000,000 UGX from MCDT-SACCO to buy more bags of charcoal. Her major business challenges include seasonality and thieves. She aspires to be able to go to villages for charcoal and also to buy or build her own house. She resides in a rented house and has access to electricity but not to piped water. Her monthly expenses include school fees, rent, and feeding the family.
