Monica Celia
Señora Mónica is 24 and has a baby. She makes a living by making and selling "payasas" (straw mattresses). She learned how to do this from her mother and sister, who have done this work for several years. They do their work in the same location, which is located in Kalajahuira. This loan is her first with the institution. She will use it to buy straw and jute wholesale to decrease her costs. Her reason for requesting this loan is the lack of cash to buy this material that she needs for her wrok. She is a client of the Kalajahuira group, which is very good and makes its payments on time. She was offered this credit because she is very responsible and punctual with her payments. Mónica faces challenges with her business. In the area where she lives, many people sell these mattresses. Since she is a small producer, she doesn't have a lot of capital for her business. She will use these benefits to keep buying materials like straw and jute wholesale. Her dream is to improve her income to be able to obtain her own goods like furniture. She also wants her own shop since she currently uses her sister's.
