Juan Bladimir
Juan Bladimir lives in Ticuantepe with his wife who sells fast-food and tortillas. His plan for the future is to improve the living conditions. Juan has had his own mototaxi for several years and it’s his source of income to provide his family’s daily bread but it does not generate sufficient profits to be able to invest once and for all to add on the rear of his house because during the rainy season water comes in and they are unable to clean the house nor to wash clothes. He’s asking for his first loan to buy concrete blocks, cement, sand, gravel and metal sheeting in order to begin construction on their home.

About Housing Loans

Many poor families cannot afford housing that meets their needs. When you make a housing loan on Kiva, you give people access to flexible capital to obtain or improve their homes. Better housing means better health, sanitation, and even educational outcomes for children. A house can also be much more for entrepreneurs who run businesses out of their homes. In this way, housing and small business loans on Kiva share a common purpose: to alleviate poverty and enable families to enjoy more stable lives.
