Maia is 50 years old, single and lives in Georgia's Senaki district with her mother. The family earns a living by farming, especially by raising and caring for four calves and four milk cows whose milk is used in cheese products that the family sells in the local open market. In addition, she has a pig and sells its piglets locally. Finally, the family grows maize on land it owns and sells an average of 500-600 kg of maize per year. Maia is a very hard-working woman, and very experienced at what she does. She has applied for this loan to buy another additional milk cow so that she will have more milk to sell. This will allow her to earn more money and improve her living standards.
