Harriet is a 44-year-old living in Masindi, Uganda. She is a widow and charged with the responsibility of taking care of 3 children. After the death of her husband she realized that farming alone could not help her support her family since it was seasonal, so she ventured into cloth selling. With the income earned she has been able to pay school fees for her children and renovate her house.
Like most traders in a developing world she has challenges of high taxes and price fluctuation. Harriet's goal is to educate her children up to the university level and move the business to a more permanent location. Harriet intends to buy clothes to sell ahead of the Christmas season.
