Yulieth, 24, is a very hard-working and enterprising young woman who has moved her own business forward. Her business is a sewing shop, where she offers tailoring services to others. She also has her own line of sportswear. She is the head of her household and a single mother to her 4-year-old son. Despite the great economic difficulties that this brings, her efforts with long work days have allowed her to move forward and give her son a good quality of life.
Thanks to the high quality of her products, Yulieth now has a great opportunity that she does not want to let pass her by. Since she has difficulties with capital in her business, she is resorting to a loan to buy supplies like fabric, thread, closures, buttons, and others to start her own line of women's jeans. Her dream is to be able to offer her son a much better quality of life than what she can give him now and also give him access to a higher-quality education. She aspires to prosper in her business and hope that this will allow her to have her own home.

This loan is structured on Kiva as a bullet loan, which means a single payment is required at the end of the loan term. By Colombian law, Kiva's partner Interactuar is required to offer borrowers loans with a variable interest rate that fluctuates with the market rate. Because fixed monthly payments are applied first to interest and then to principal, Interactuar is unable to predict upfront what portion of each repayment would go towards the loan principal. This creates a challenge with Kiva's system, which doesn't allow for unpredictable principal payments, and can result in some Interactuar clients appearing falsely delinquent. To remedy this, the loan has an end-of-term repayment plan on Kiva, but the borrower will continue scheduled monthly repayments to Interactuar, who will then pass along the principal amount to Kiva lenders. This means that you may see repayments made on this loan throughout the repayment term, as opposed to receiving repayment in full at the end of the loan term.
