Carolina is from Lilo-an, Bonifacio. She's a 50-year-old widow. To make a living, she prepares and sells food. She has been engaged in her business for 5 years and earns about 5,000 PHP a month from these activities. Recently, she joined GDMPC. Carolina is requesting a loan of 8,000 PHP, which will be used to purchase ingredients needed to prepare food products for sale. She plans to use the additional revenue generated from the business to supplement the family's income.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
