Emmanuel, 40 years old, is a married entrepreneur from Bonifacio with two children and is earning a living from his transport service business. It has been in existence for almost 11 years now and he earns 40,000 PHP a month. To improve business, he is borrowing the amount of 50,000 PHP from GDMPC micro credit, which he just joined recently, to obtain accessories and tires. Before long, he’s hopeful of the possibility of expanding his business.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
