Chantha is a 31-year-old rice farmer who lives with her husband and five dependent children in a village in the Moungkoul Borey district of Banteay Meanchey province, Cambodia. Besides growing rice on six-hectare area of farmland, she also sells grocery items to earn extra income for the family. She can earn about 50,000KHR per day and manage to save almost 20,000KHR daily after offsetting her expenses.

Chantha’s group consists of two women. A first-cycle borrower with VisionFund, she and her group member are requesting a loan of 1,000,000KHR each. Chantha will use her portion to buy fertilizer for her farmland and more grocery items to sell such as salt, eggs, sugar, etc. She hopes to earn more income from the business to maintain good progress in her family's lifestyle.
