Nelly's story

Nelly is 58 years old and a good, honest, and friendly woman. She’s divorced, has a 17 year old daughter and lives in a home of her own with her family that includes her sisters and nieces. They are the reasons she continues ahead and works hard. Nelly prepares stews and various foods, has a great talent, and is known as one of the women with the tastiest spices in town. This is why her restaurant is one of the most well-known in the zone and why her customers go there daily to enjoy the tasty menus that she prepares with care and love.

She’s had a passion for the culinary arts since she was young, and in time she has developed her capacity and sense for improving her spices. Now she knows the tastes that her customers prefer and she remembers how she began this work 30 years ago with fondness and pride. She dreamed of having her own restaurant and with time she has seen her efforts pay off and she’s gotten benefits that she can now enjoy.

What she enjoys most about her work is preparing the stews, enjoying the smells and tastes, and knowing that her loyal customers enjoy each dish that she offers. She hopes to continue improving her restaurant’s infrastructure.

This will be her 16th loan through MFP and she appreciates those who make this loan possible so that she can continue toward her goals. She is also very committed to making her payments on time, as she has done with previous loans. She is happy to belong to the communal bank because all of the members are good, friendly and united.

She will use the 4,000 PEN from this loan to buy ingredients that she uses daily, now that the demand for her food has increased. She will also buy building supplies to expand and improve the conditions in her restaurant.
