Duyen was born in 1979. She has two children who are at primary school. Her husband and she have been carpenters for six years. Duyen makes 5,000,000 VND a month from her job. Her family’s total earnings are about 10,000,000 VND per month.
She has participated in SEDA's credit program since 2008. In the last cycle she borrowed 7,630,000 VND and repaid the loan on time. In this loan cycle, she would like to borrow 8,938,000 VND to buy a wood saw machine. Her dream is to keep her children going to school till higher education and buy a computer for them.
The Center of Small Enterprise Development Assistance (SEDA) is a non-profit organization whose vision is to create “a society without poverty.” Founded in 2004, SEDA provides microfinance services to low-income and disadvantaged people in rural areas of Hanoi and the northern provinces of Vietnam through its Binh Minh Micro-Finance Program.
