Samuel lives in the Kongowea area of Coast province. He is married and has six children, five of whom are in school. He owns a detergent manufacturing shop and has been operating it for three years. Apart from this, he gets his additional income from pension funds. In his business, Samuel makes soaps and liquid detergents to sell in the surrounding areas.
He learned about Milango through friends and joined the organization with the aim of accessing credit to improve the operations of his business. The challenges he faces are price fluctuation and inflation.
Samuel is applying for a loan of 31,500 Kenyan shillings (KES) to purchase raw materials to make soap. The extra income from the loan will be added to his savings to expand his business and further his studies. His future plans are to expand the business to a wholesale shop.
