Julissa Cindy
Cindy is 18 years old. She lives in the city of Pisco, a city that is characterized for its very hot weather and being welcoming as well, there are many tourist attractions such as “the Ballestas Islands”, which receives many tourists throughout the year. Cindy is a very hardworking young woman and above all is very optimistic. With the fruits of her labour she supports her parents as she says it is a pleasure to contribute as they have given her much despite their humble conditions.

When Cindy has free time she loves to play sports. She especially enjoys playing volleyball with her friends and neighbours in the neighbourhood, but what she likes the most is to eat one of her favourite dishes which is very delicious rice with duck. Due to her limited financial resources she could only study until fifth grade but she would have liked to study nursing.

Cindy works everyday in her small clothing store for women, men and children. She works about 10 hours a day and can attend to as many as 28 customers. She believes the business is doing well because she is very friendly to the customers and because she offers good quality products at affordable prices.

Cindy is very grateful to Kiva lenders; thanks to the help they have provided she can buy merchandise for her business such as shirts, pants, shoes among others. In this way she can increase her income and have a greater variety of products to offer her customer and to strive to make her biggest dream a reality: “to finish building her house with noble materials as it is currently made of adobe”.
