Joanna is an architect and designer living in Brooklyn. She has a part-time job at an architecture firm, but her real passion is design. She spends the other half of her time designing and selling astronomy-themed baby curtains from her home. The inspiration for her product, The Twinkle Curtain™, came after she had her first child and started experimenting with curtain design at home. After seeing her curtains, Joanna’s friends became interested in purchasing them so she began selling small batches. She has recently begun taking small batch orders at boutiques in New York and has received orders from online retailers. In response to these orders, Joanna started producing larger quantities of the product. Joanna feels lucky to have the support of her friends and family who are helping her with production expenses, but is seeking a loan to finish paying for the remaining production costs to cover the orders and prepare for new distributors. Joanna hopes that one day she can dedicate her entire time to work on her passion and spend time with her husband and two children.
