Victor
Víctor is married and has two children who are of school age. They live in their own home that consists of only one room made of adobe walls and a dirt floor. The house is located in the District of Rió Abajo in the city of La Paz.

Víctor currently raises and sells cattle in order to generate income for covering expenses, such as food and basic services for his family. He also grows vegetables and legumes. The loan he is requesting will be used to buy improved seeds so that he can offer better vegetables and legumes to sell. Víctor wants to generate additional profits from his crops so that he can improve his income.

His dreams include building a house that will provide more comfort for his family since his children need their own space. This will also improve their quality of life. This is the first time Víctor has worked with IMPRO and Kiva.

About IMPRO

IMPRO is a small non-profit organization that has been offering micro credit to the working poor in the Bolivian cities of La Paz and El Alto since 1995. IMPRO’s goal is to fight poverty by offering loans to small business owners who cannot access credit through the regular banking system due to a lack of guarantees or collateral.

To ensure that everyone has access to credit, IMPRO maintains a low interest rate by minimizing operational costs. IMPRO’s partnership with Kiva, which began in 2007, has allowed IMPRO to expand its services while maintaining these low interest rates.
