Mrs. Khom T. is the group leader of five members in Cham Bak Phém Village in Kampong Chhnang Province. A Khmer cake seller and farmer, she is 51 and a widow with four children, one of whom is employed in a garment factory while the others stay at home to help their mother sell Khmer cake in the village. In the dry season this year, Mrs. Khom T. hired a laborer to work on her rice plantation. She now does not have enough money to pay for the laborer, and is thus seeking a loan for this purpose. Previously, Mrs. Khom T. obtained a loan to buy fish to resell in order to support the family.
