Antony has been in farming for three years producing both poultry and maize for the local market. He works as a tailor for additional income.
Antony has requested a loan of 30,000 KES from Juhudi Kilmo to buy poultry birds. He says this will give boost to his farming business. He is glad to have joined Juhudi Kilimo and says farming has been his sole source of income.
Antony however says animal diseases especially poultry diseases are the main challenge.
To facilitate a partnership between Kiva and Juhudi Kilimo, K-Rep Group (Juhudi Kilimo’s 100% owner) has guaranteed Kiva funds in the event of institutional default. Lenders should be aware that the risk of borrower default remains borne by the lender.
