Leónida R. began working at a very young age. Her first job was as a domestic servant in a home, which she decided to resign as a result of physical mistreatment by her employer. In this way she began a job as a salesperson for a warehouse. She worked there for ten years until she separated from her husband and decided to become independent.

Now, she has a store in her home. By night she sells anticuchos (shish kebab) and salchipapas (fries with sliced sausage) with the help of her youngest daughter, who is her only company now that her other children are out of the house. In the future, she would like to convert her store into a mechanic shop.
