Daisy Mae is an active micro-finance member of PMPC since 2011. She is 39 years of age and is married with 2 adult-age and 2 school-age children. She lives in Olang, Maria, Siquijor. She has been selling ready-to-wear clothes for the past 2 years and earns an income every month of PHP 3,000. She requested another loan from PMPC in the amount of PHP 14,000 to purchase additional ready-to-wear stock for sale. She plans to use the profit to save and provide for the daily needs of her family.
About Paglaum Multi-Purpose Cooperative
Paglaum Multi-Purpose Cooperative (PMPC) was founded in 1992 by the beneficiaries, parents and staff of the Paglaum Community Development Foundation to address economic and livelihood activities for sustainability. The organization operates in the northwestern provinces of Mindanao and Visayas.
In the local vernacular, “paglaum” means “hope.” The initial foundation is dedicated to child development through a holistic approach. The goal is to build self-reliance and expand opportunity so the poorest of the poor can help themselves.
